Fixed Wireless Access service, Flexi, of PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) has gained a Forsel Award 2011 for the category of ”The Most Favourite CDMA Operator”. Head of Corporate Communication and Affair (HCCA) Telkom, Eddy Kurnia, received the award from Andra, editor of Forsel Magazine, at Grha Citra Caraka Jakarta, Wednesday (13/4)

Jakarta, April 14, 2011 – Fixed Wireless Access service, Flexi, of PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) has gained a Forsel Award 2011 for the category of ”The Most Favourite CDMA Operator”. Head of Corporate Communication and Affair (HCCA) Telkom, Eddy Kurnia, received the award from Andra, editor of Forsel Magazine, at Grha Citra Caraka Jakarta, Wednesday (13/4).
Eddy Kurnia, in his welcoming speech, said that the award has made Telkom proud, and able to motivate to continuously give the best to subscribers. “We surely are very proud of this recognition, where now competition of CDMA operators is very tight, and this is a challenge to Telkom,” he confirmed. Year 2010, Flexi also awarded the Most Favourite CDMA Operator of Forsel version.
Tight competition among CDMA Operators like tariff war and penetration occurred in CDMA operating organization in the country also a challenge to the company. “But with the award from Forsel, we are proud that Flexi is able to be the most favourite CDMA operator. With percentage 38.1%, this has become a successful market share of Flexi “, added Eddy Kurnia.
Valuation system in Forsel Award covers survey done in October to December 2010. “Within that time, we have utilized for survey, and a half month for preparation and data collection,” explained Andra.

Forsel Award is an annual agenda organized for the fifth time questioning consumers about giving an aspiration to the development of service provision of cellular products in the form of polling. Direct aspiration of the consumers has become the reference to determine who is the player of cellular industry consistently and dare to make penetration oriented to consumers’ need.
Further Andra explained that in this Forsel Award, the jury has decided 10 categories. Survey process is made through kompas.com, social media like Facebook and twitter, and through various printed media representing segmentation. “Phases of valuation of the jury in Forsel Award is editors meeting, candidate nominating, editors debate and finally awarding,” he explained. With percentage at 38.1%, by survey Flexi is considered to have been successful in ‘beating’ other CDMA. “This Awarding really comes from the consumers’ selection. This has made us performing the event done for four years,” added Andra.

“This award is a recognition from the public and subscribers to service provision of Flexi that has offered,” said Eddy Kurnia. According to him, with this recognition, Flexi keeps trying to give the best service which is innovative, reliable and efficient in order to ease the subscribers.
“Success of Flexi in gaining Forsel Award is the result of determination and hard work of all Telkom people. Various innovation and penetration on Flexi service can be realized for customer satisfaction,” he said. Eddy Kurnia explained, on Flexi service available now, the subscribers are given comfort in their usage, aside from having reachable tariff, also able to have various interesting and beneficial contents.
Some of the innovation made by Flexi, are among others, program of “Flexi Free Talk”. This Program enables Flexi subscribers making call by tariff Rp 0 applied from February to December 2011 and able to be used by all Flexi subscribers either Pre-paid (Trendy) or Post-paid (Classy) in the areas of Jabodetabek Serang, Karawang, Purwakarta (Sekapur), Rangkasbitung, Pandeglang, and Banten.
As described by Eddy Kurnia, Telkom has just finished making rearrangement of most network and infrastructure. During the time, Base Transceiver Station (BTS), Base Station Controller (BSC), and Mobile Switching Controller (MSC) is connected with radio link, now replaced by optical fibre.

Innovation and benefit offered by Flexi proven to have had a positive response from the society and at the same time to improve a positive perception for Flexi service. The award received on Wednesday (13/4) has added a number of awards and recognition from the society upon Telkom service. Previously, Telkom has also had the Indonesian Brand Champion Award 2011 from MarkPlus.
“We consider that in the mobile lifestyle era, broad network must be supported by various sophisticated technologies enabling the operator presenting various service innovation as an added value for the subscribers,” added Eddy Kurnia.
Eddy Kurnia expects that Flexi subscribers in 2011 may grow around 10-11 % after in 2010 successful in gaining 18 millions of subscribers with Average Revenue Per User(ARPU) around Rp 30 thousands per month.
